Akel Homes Sponsors the 2022 Treasure Coast Regional League of Cities Conference Dinner in Hollywood, FL

As part of the Florida League of Cities Conference, the Treasure Coast Regional League of Cities held its annual Conference Dinner at the Diplomat Resort located in Hollywood, Florida. The annual dinner event took place on Thursday, August 11th. Akel Homes, a South Florida boutique and semi-custom housebuilder, attended and sponsored the event.

The Treasure Coast Regional League of Cities consists of representatives from the thirteen municipalities located in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie Counties. The growing, active organization works closely with and is supported by the Florida League of Cities and a number of local businesses, in representing the interests of the Treasure Coast’s municipalities to the Florida Legislature, Governor’s office and state agencies. The specific benefits of becoming a member include, attending board meetings, lunch meetings and social events which gives you the ability to network with the municipal members. Meetings are monthly throughout the year and quarterly lunches are hosted by member cities or associate members.

The annual Conference Dinner was held at Sardelli’s Italian Steakhouse in Hollywood, Florida on August 11th. During this dinner, Port St. Lucie Vice Mayor, Jolien Caraballo was elected the next Florida League of Cities president for the 2022-2023 term. Three members of the City of Port St. Lucie council surrounded Caraballo (Councilwoman Stephanie Morgan, Councilman David Pickett, and Councilman Anthony Bonna). At the beginning of the dinner, Councilman Anthony Bonna opened up with a prayer, speech, and a toast.

As part of the Conference dinner sponsorship program, three levels were available. The three sponsors including Akel Homes, Captec Engineering, and The AshBritt Foundation. Akel Homes was represented by Alex Akel, President, and Horacio Moncada, Director of Land Development.

The Treasure Coast League of Cities event was well organized with a perfect setting. I really enjoyed the acceptance speech by PSL Vice Mayor and now president of TCRLC Jolien Caraballo, as well as introductions by Anthony Bonna & Patricia Christensen.
