Akel Homes Breaks Ground on Becker Road and Sundance in Port St. Lucie

Akel Homes, a premier South Florida homebuilder, has announced the commencement of the construction of the Becker Road extension and Sundance in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The four-mile Becker Road extension will connect Village Parkway to Range Line Road and will be a two-lane road with a divided landscaped median.

The importance of connecting the east and west portions of the city cannot be overstated. The Becker Road extension will allow for seamless access to I-95, connecting residents and visitors to businesses, schools, medical facilities, and recreation areas such as the McCarty Ranch Preserve. The extension is a long-desired connection, and its completion in 2024 will be a milestone in the growth of the city.

Sundance, a breathtaking master-planned community developed by Akel Homes across 2,500 acres, will be home to over 25,000 residents and 8,000 new homes upon completion. The community will feature world-class resort-style amenities, including shopping and dining experiences, multiple recreational parks, and pedestrian and multi-modal pathways woven throughout that will provide easy access between the communities, amenities, and the surrounding area.

Breaking ground on the Becker Road extension and Sundance is a significant step in the growth of Port St. Lucie, said Alex Akel, President of Akel Homes. We are thrilled to be part of this exciting development and look forward to creating vibrant lifestyle communities that will be enjoyed by residents and visitors for many years to come.

Port St. Lucie is one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation, and the Becker Road extension and Sundance will contribute to the city’s continued growth by providing much-needed connectivity and new housing opportunities.
