Alex Akel Announced Finalist for the National Association of Home Builders Young Professionals Award

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) designated Alex Akel, President of Akel Homes, as a finalist of the 2020 Young Professional Awards, which highlights exceptional individuals that are excelling amongst those within the homebuilding industry. Akel Homes, semi-custom homebuilder based in South Florida, is actively building Villamar at Toscana Isles, a new single-family home development centrally located in Palm Beach County.
The NAHB Young Professionals Committee recognizes these finalists as future leaders, who intend on utilizing their skills to redefine the standards of the homebuilding industry. Communicators, problem solvers, risk tolerators, and creatives are attributes commonly used to describe real estate developers that are outshining those within this particular industry, and Alex Akel is one of them. Success comes with perseverance and a growth mindset, as these individuals continue to produce extraordinary results that are beyond those of their competitors.
Alex is a second-generation developer with an entrepreneurial mindset that strives above and beyond to seek out the latest trends and incorporate ways to address these ever-growing demands from customers. He is responsible for the company’s strategic vision and is actively involved in overseeing land acquisitions and entitlements, product design, construction operations and sales and marketing functions of the company’s developments.
Homebuilding flowed through Alex’s blood since childhood. By the age of 23, he became a licensed contractor in the state of Florida. Today, Alex is one of the youngest homebuilding executives in the country. Alex is well-versed in all aspects of homebuilding: acquisitions, land development, design, procurement, sales and marketing. Under his leadership, Akel Homes has established itself as one of the largest builders in South Florida.
