AkelCares is our initiative to support worthwhile causes that share the same values and principles of Akel Homes. These causes include but are not limited to education, financial stability, hunger relief, housing, health and first responders/veterans. By purchasing your new home from Akel Homes, you have chosen a builder that is committed to dedicating time, energy and resources to improve the lives of others.

At the Closing, Akel Homes will donate a total of $300 to be distributed among one, two, or three of the below non-profit organization selected by Purchaser in their honor.

The non-profit organizations are:

Feeding South Florida

Feeding South Florida is the largest, most efficient food bank serving Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe Counties. More than 98% of all donations are put back into the community. Through innovative direct-service programs and a network of nonprofit partner agencies, Feeding South Florida distributed nearly 119 million pounds (99.3 million meals) of food last fiscal year to over 706,000 individuals – 236,000 of whom are children and 100,000 are older adults.

Impact: For every $1 donated to Feeding South Florida, 9 meals are provided.

Habitat For Humanity

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY people in your community, and all over the world, to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With your support, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families. Since the founding of Habitat in 1976, Habitat has helped more than 29 million people build or improve the place they call home.

Impact: In 2019, Habitat helped more than 7 million people, and an additional 2.3 million gained the potential to improve their housing conditions through training and advocacy.

The Pap Corp Champions for Cancer Research

With 22,000 members strong, The Pap Corps Champions for Cancer Research is South Florida’s largest grassroots fundraising organization. Together, we strive towards our collective vision— A World Without Cancer. All funds are used for groundbreaking cancer research and to bring in world-renown cancer researchers to work on eradicating all forms of cancer. All of the funds raised stay here locally and impact cancer patients in our own backyard.

Impact: Since its inception, The Pap Corps has donated over $110 million to Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine to fund research on all types of cancers.
